This account was written by Shaiekh Ateeq ur Rahmaan based on a recording made during the meeting. It documents a historic conversation between two scholars about the treasury of Aasaar-ul-Nabaviyyah— the blessed relics of the Holy Prophet ﷺ.
Background
Dr. Allaamah Kaukab Noorani Okarvi is a renowned Islamic scholar from Pakistan, whose life mission is to manifest the true values of Islam with the utmost love and respect for the beloved Holy Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. He is the author of over 28 books on important Islamic teachings and practices and is known for his zero-tolerance stance against any disrespect toward the Holy Prophet ﷺ. He is the son of Khateeb-e-A'zam Hazrat Maulana Muhammad Shafee Okarvi رحمة الله عليه (1929–1984), whose masterpieces — including Zikr-e-Jameel, Shaam-e-Karbala, and Imaam-e-Paak aur Yazeed Paleed— have been published in millions of copies over the last 60 years.
Shaiekh Ahmad Bin Muhammad Al Khazraji, known as أمير الأنصار (Prince of the Ansaar), is a descendant of the Khazrajtribe of the Ansaar of Madinah. His father, Mohamed Al Khazraji, served as Minister of Endowments and Islamic Affairs, Minister of Justice, and Head of the Committee of Heritage and Culture in the UAE — the First Judge in Abu Dhabi since 1958, from a lineage of judges spanning over a century. The Government of the UAE has published stamps in honour of the family. Shaiekh Al Khazraji has been appointed Chief of the Al-Ansaar fraternity worldwide by the Ansaar Tribe.
Shaiekh Al Khazraji holds a remarkable and authenticated collection of Aasaar-ul-Nabaviyyah اثار النبوية — blessed relics of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ— with verified chains of transmission (sanad).

The Meeting — August 31, 2014
On the evening of August 31, 2014, a three-member delegation from Pakistan — Dr. Allaamah Kaukab Noorani Okarvi, Shaiekh Ateeq ur Rahmaan, and Mr. Haaroon — visited Shaiekh Ahmad Bin Muhammad Al Khazraji at his home in Al-Bateen, Abu Dhabi, UAE. The day prior, the Shaiekh's eldest son Muhammad had arranged a private visitation of the Aasaar-ul-Nabaviyyah for the delegation.
Dr. Okarvi shared that before traveling to Abu Dhabi, he had first visited Madinah al-Munawwarah — and made a personal supplication at the blessed presence of the Prophet ﷺ, asking that if the relics were genuinely associated with him, the visit be made easy. He cited the Qur'anic example of Prophet Ibraaheem عليه السلام — who asked Allah to show him how the dead are given life, not from doubt, but to put his heart at ease:
وإذ قال إبراهيمُ ربِ أَرِني كَيفَ تُحْيِ المَوْتَى قَالَ أَوَلَمْ تُؤْمِن قَالَ بَلىٰ وَلَكِن لِيَطْمَئِنَ قَلْبِي
“And when Ibrahim said, ‘My Lord! Show me how You will give life to the dead.’ He said, ‘Are you not certain?’ Ibrahim said, ‘Surely yes, why not? But because I wish to put my heart at ease.’”
How the Relics Arrived — A Divine Arrangement
Shaiekh Al Khazraji explained that the relics were not inherited directly within his immediate family. After his father Mohamed Al Khazraji passed away in 2006, a remarkable series of events unfolded in 2007 and 2008: numerous people from the Ansaar and Ahl-e-Bayt families reported dreaming of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ— who instructed them to transfer all Aasaar-ul-Nabaviyyah in their possession directly to Shaiekh Al Khazraji. Over those two years, more than 40 items were received.
In 2010, further relics arrived. A prominent personality from a GCC country, holding over 300 relics sealed by the Khilafat Usmaaniyyah خلافت عثمانيه and secured underground — unknown even to his own brother — sent delegations to negotiate their transfer to the Shaiekh's care.
Among the most significant acquisitions was the Zafeerah Shareef from Hajjat-ul-Wada'a. According to Saheeh Bukhaari, Hazrat Talhah رضي الله عنه took the right side of the blessed hair and handed it to Umm-e-Sulaiem رضي الله عنها. It remained within her family until it was transferred to Saiyyidinaa Hazrat Abdul Qaadir Jeelaani رضي الله عنه — and cascaded through his descendants until Ishaarah was received to hand it to Shaiekh Ahmad Al Khazraji.
The Forthcoming Book
Shaiekh Al Khazraji disclosed that a comprehensive book is being compiled: Al-Aasaar-ul-Nabaviyyah fil Khazaanat ul Khazrajiyyah الاثار النبوية فى الخزانة الخزرجية, to be printed on A3 size paper. Its forewords are written by distinguished scholars worldwide, including Shaiekh Ali Jumaa (previous Grand Mufti of Egypt), Shaiekh Ahmad Al Khalili (Mufti of the Sultanate of Oman), and the Advisor to the President of UAE. The book is structured as follows:
Chapter 1 — Full detail and sanad for each relic, with chains reaching in many cases to Saiyyidinaa Abdul Qaadir Jeelaani رضي الله عنه.
Chapter 2 — Forty ahadith of the Holy Prophet ﷺ.
Chapter 3 — The Aadilah— benefits of preserving and venerating the relics — with full references from Qur'an, Hadith, statements of the Companions رضي الله عنهم, and consensus of the Muslims.
Chapter 4 — Classification of relics into five categories (see below), followed by the Khasaais-ul-Aasaar— methods for establishing authenticity.
To be published initially in Arabic, then translated into English, French, Urdu, Spanish, Russian, and further languages.
Five Categories of Blessed Relics
Category 1 — Associated with the body
Blessed hair, teeth, nails, Araq Shareef (blessed sweat), and related items.
Category 2 — Worn on the body
Amaamah (turban), Burdah (mantle), Qamees (shirt), Khaatam (ring), Izaar, and similar garments.
Category 3 — Occasionally carried
Staff ('Asaa), ring, swords (Suyoof), Mikhsara, and similar items not carried daily.
Category 4 — Objects that were touched
The Minbar (pulpit for sermon), letters written to kings, and similar items bearing direct contact.
Category 5 — Associated places
Places the Prophet ﷺ visited, prayed in, or stayed at.
Miraculous Properties — Khasaais-ul-Aasaar
Shaiekh Al Khazraji described several miraculous characteristics unique to the blessed hair of the Prophet ﷺ:
- It grows. Only the blessed hair of the Prophet ﷺcontinues to grow after 1,400 years — black grows black, white grows white. Black hair doubles in 20–30 years; white in 70–80 years. No other person's preserved hair grows — not even that of the Companions رضي الله عنهم.
- It casts no shadow. When light is shone through genuine blessed hair placed on water (after correct preparation), no shadow appears.
- It does not burn. Turkish Khalifah Usmaaniyyah had blessed hair encapsulated in crystal requiring 800°C to melt — the hair remained completely unharmed.
- It moves during Zikr. The hair visibly moves when Laa Ilaaha Illal Laah is recited in its presence.
- It glows in darkness. In complete darkness during Zikr, the hair has been seen to emit light.
- Its blessed fragrance endures. The original blessed fragrance of the Prophet ﷺ has remained in the hair for over 1,400 years.
- New hairs appear. Shaiekh Al Khazraji has witnessed new hairs added to his collection during his service of the Aasaar — each tested and confirmed genuine by the burn-fail test.
Black hair is described as جمال (Jamaal — Beauty), while white hair is جلال (Jalaal— Majesty).
Three-Stage Authenticity Protocol
Stage 1 — No-Shadow Test
Wash the hair with Zamzam water from root to tip, then with normal water to remove residual salts. Dry gently with soft cotton. Shine light through the hair placed on water — genuine blessed hair casts no shadow.
Stage 2 — Zikr Movement Test
Recite Laa Ilaaha Illal Laah in front of the hair. Genuine blessed hair will visibly move in response to Zikr.
Stage 3 — Burn-Fail Test
The definitive test. Genuine blessed hair of the Prophet ﷺ will not burn in fire. This test requires experience and must be conducted with utmost reverence.
Miraculous Incidents
Cloud Cover in Sudan and Chechnya
When Shaiekh Al Khazraji brought the Aasaar to Sudan during peak summer (48°C), dense cloud covered the entire capital for all three days of the visit. In Chechnya, at the President's glass-roofed palace — bright with full sunlight — a thick cloud appeared and covered the entire building for the full 1½ hours of the blessed hair's washing ceremony. Security footage of this miracle is available.
Cessation of Crime in Russia
During Shaiekh Al Khazraji's visit to Russia on 4th and 5th September 2013, the Russian Minister of Interior stated on national television that for the entire duration of the Shaiekh's presence with the blessed relics, not a single criminal or violent case was reported across the country.
Healing of a Scholar's Bleeding
A distinguished scholar and senior official in Abu Dhabi was hospitalised with continuous bleeding that all medical efforts failed to stop — an aeroplane to Europe had been arranged. Shaiekh Al Khazraji brought the blessed hair to his room. The scholar held the Aasaar Shareefand spoke to it for twenty minutes — as one speaks to a beloved friend. The bleeding stopped completely. The medical staff could neither explain the cause nor the cure.
The Heart Monitor in Lebanon — Subhaanal Laah
A photographer working on the Khazraji book received news that his mother had fallen into a coma in Lebanon. He took blessed water — washed over the sacred hair — and, when doctors would not permit her to drink it, soaked a cloth and placed it against her chest. At that moment, the heart monitor — not designed for such a display — began showing the word الله in Arabic script, continuously. Technicians replaced the monitor; the same miracle appeared again. This continued for three days — witnessed by doctors, nurses, patients, and visitors of a Christian hospital in Lebanon — until she peacefully passed away. سبحان الله.
The Story of Al-Kubraa Shareef
During a visit to Calicut, Kerala, Shaiekh Al Khazraji received a dream-instruction: a local scholar had seen the Prophet ﷺ saying, “Give the Al-Kubraa to Ahmad Al-Khazraji.” Neither the Shaiekh nor scholars in Egypt could find any reference to Al-Kubraa Shareef in the books of Seerah — yet they assured him: “The Prophet ﷺhas ordered it to come to you — be at ease.”
Following an inner instinct to visit Mumbai, Shaiekh Al Khazraji called on a scholar he knew. The scholar took him to a small private room and opened box within box within box — and brought out the Zulf Shareef of the Prophet ﷺ, saying he had been searching for Shaiekh Al Khazraji for four months to deliver it. The relic had been in his family for over 800 years, since the time of Saiyyidinaa Hazrat Abdul Qaadir Jeelaani رضي الله عنه, with full authentic sanad.
The scholar then asked: “Do you not need Al-Kubraa Shareef — the blessed Jubbah worn by the Prophet ﷺ during the night of الإسراء والمعراج (Israa wal-Mi'raaj)?”
The history of Al-Kubraa Shareef is remarkable: it passed from Turkey to Sultaan Haiedar Ali of Mysore, then to his son Fateh Ali Tipu Sultaan — the brave ruler who died defending his kingdom against the English invasion in 1799. At the fall of Mysore, a close relative rescued Al-Kubraa from the Masjid. For 150 years the family held annual visitations during Rabi'-ul-Awwal; then, as the family grew poorer and crowds larger, the visitations stopped. For the last 80 years, Al-Kubraa Shareef had remained sealed and locked.
Just two weeks before Shaiekh Al Khazraji received the dream-instruction in Kerala, that same family had resolved to transfer Al-Kubraa Shareef to whoever would build an Islamic complex — a Masjid and Qur'aan school — in exchange. The timing was no coincidence.

Preservation and Care
Shaiekh Al Khazraji has developed meticulous protocols for preservation — covering how to handle hair (using white fabric for black hair and vice versa), how to determine the direction of growth (by feeling smoothness with olive-oil-moistened hands), and how to prepare a specially formulated wax.
The wax recipe uses honeycomb from wild desert sources, Blue Anmbar عنبر (three times the price of gold), Kastoori (Musk), and rare Indian Kaafoor كافور (Camphor). This wax can preserve the hair for 11 to 14 years.
The large Zafeerah Shareef is washed on the 23rd night of Ramadaan each year; the smaller Zafeerah on 27th Rajab, in a private ceremony attended by 100–200 people. The blessed ghusl water is distributed as a gift.
Each hair is encapsulated either in a magnifying-glass container for viewing, or in a specially designed jar with a vent for the blessed fragrance — housed within a 2kg silver metal box for protection. All hair is correctly oriented to allow continued growth and movement during Zikr.
The blessed perfume Al-Ghaaliyah الغالية — a blend of four perfumes used by the Prophet ﷺ— is prepared by Shaiekh Al Khazraji himself. People in Madinah have confirmed its fragrance is 100% identical to the scent that emanates from the Prophet's blessed room. At 200,000 Dirhams per kilogram of ingredients, it is distributed entirely free of charge as Sadaqah.
Shaiekh Al Khazraji also noted that the Topkapi Palace management in Turkey has approached him for assistance, as their blessed hair collection has not grown due to improper storage (inverted placement in synthetic wax). He plans to travel there, correct the preservation, and train their custodians.
The Prophet's Blessed Appearance in Dreams
When Dr. Okarvi asked whether Shaiekh Al Khazraji had seen the Prophet ﷺ in dreams since receiving the relics, he replied: Al Hamdu Lil Laah — more than five times.
“In one dream, the Prophet ﷺstood facing the Qiblah before the treasury. Behind him was a great table covered in white fabric — 3 metres wide and of infinite length — bearing the Aasaar laid open, and hundreds of thousands of books. The Prophet ﷺ raised his blessed hands and said: هذه اثاري — ‘These are my relics.’ At that moment, light burst forth from each of the Aasaar like glittering stars.”
At the close of the meeting, Shaiekh Al Khazraji gifted Dr. Okarvi the blessed ghusl water of the hair of the Prophet ﷺand a piece of the blessed cloth used in the washing. He invited Dr. Okarvi to accompany him on future worldwide tours for visitation of the Aasaar — an invitation Dr. Okarvi gratefully accepted.
Shaiekh Al Khazraji accompanied his guests all the way to the gate of his home and stood there until their car had left.
